Google Pixel 2 Problems Can Be Fixed With This Old School Trick

The latest problem plaguing the recently released Google Pixel 2 smartphone actually has a very interesting fix that old school gamers, in particular, will appreciate. Many Pixel 2 users have reported that the device is having issues with its microphone becoming muted and unresponsive when using features such as speech-to-text or Google Assistant.

Among various online forums, users have also found the issue can be resolved by blowing into the USB Type-C and microphone area of the device. This is very reminiscent of how those who have played Super Nintendo or Nintendo 64 consulted would blow into game cartridges to solve various issues.

Reports indicate other Android devices, including the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8 are experiencing the same problem and that users are resolving the issue with the same blowing solution. But tech pundits recommend that Pixel 2, Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8 users refrain from blowing into their devices and report the issue to Google or Samsung for device services.

Currently, there is no word on what is causing the mic problem.

Some other recent issues reported about the Pixel 2 include models that were shipped without functioning Android 8.0 Oreo operating system. Google has since resolved the issue, wirelessly installing the system onto devices. The Galaxy Note 8 recently experienced a bug, which causes handsets to freeze when accessing apps and programs connected to Contacts. Samsung released a statement encouraging users to report the issue for servicing.​
