The news about the rumored 5G Pixel smartphone first came from the Asia-based Nikkei Asian Review. The tech website Android Authority has learned from the Nikkei Asian Review that the tech giant is working on a new 5G Pixel phone.

According to Android Authority, a highly reliable source has told the Asian-based Nikkei Asian Review that Google is preparing to launch the two Pixel 4 smartphones. These new handsets are now on the production lines and ready to ship after the company’s official launch next week. Bu,t the Asian source added that, aside from the new Pixel 4 smartphones, the tech giant is also working on a version of new smartphone with 5G technology. The rumored handset has now entered the test production stage, the Asian source said.

Android Authority also reported that the new 5G smartphone might feature a Snapdragon 855 processor with an X50 5G modem. But, the most interesting part of the tech story is that Google might announce the purported 5G Pixel smartphone at the company’s Pixel official event next week.

The Asian source said that the tech giant could make some changes and choose to launch its new device in the spring, between the months of March and May 2020. In addition to the 5G Pixel, Google might release a new budget Pixel device, along with the new 5G Pixel phone.

Google might pick the Google I/O event as the next venue

The company’s Pixel 3a smartphone lines were introduced at Google I/O event in May. The event offers a perfect platform for introducing new products and could be a likely venue for the company’s next line of smartphones, including the rumored 5G Pixel and a new budget Pixel phone.

The tech world has already seen numerous smartphone manufacturers teasing their new 5G phones, but nothing has heard about Google working on a new 5G model.
