Google Stadia was recently launched and received different kinds of reactions, mostly leaning on the negative side. It appears that things are getting a lot worse for the new streaming service of the search engine giant. Recently, users report overheating Chromecast causing crashes and shutdowns.

On Reddit, some Google Stadia users reported experiencing an issue in the only piece of hardware some players use to play on their TVs. The reports claim that Google Chromecast is abnormally overheating and possibly causing crashes and shutdowns. Since its launch, users have been reporting lag and input latency issues with Google Stadia. Still, the latest issue is distressing, considering that the matter in question is that of Google’s own Chromecast Ultra.

Some heating on Google Stadia units is a meaningful indication of their proper operation; however, users are reporting that the overheating issue is causing their games to shut down or crash in the middle of the session. The search engine giant responded and claimed that they had not experienced heat-associated crashes through lengthy gameplay sessions. In the same thread, several users complained about experiencing abnormally high temperatures on Google Chromecast Ultra, particularly when streaming shows or movies.

A lot of questions are now being thrown at the search engine giant with the recent turn of events associated with Google Stadia. The growing number of reports about heat issues, the lack of features at launch, and input lag and latency issues all contribute to the dwindling confidence consumers have towards Google Stadia. Google’s only response to these issues so far, is that its testing did not show these issues, which obviously will not put users at ease. The problems might not have occurred in testing environments, but it seems to be happening to a lot of users right now.

Google is a tech giant and is loaded with brilliant staff equipped to test products before releasing them to the public. While the search engine giant’s current response is just a statement that does not address the issue, it at least encouraged users to reach out to discuss these in the help page of Google Stadia. Google will more likely release a fix to address these issues.
