Ed Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) is ready to embrace his persona as the Riddler in “Gotham” Season 3. Fox

“Gotham” Season 3 is set to return with a bang this April, especially since Ed Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) is finally ready to become the Riddler.

The upcoming episode is entitled “How the Riddler Got His Name,” and Fox just released its synopsis, according to Screen Rant. It reads: “Nygma convinces himself that he doesn’t need Penguin to succeed and begins to introduce himself to Gotham as ‘The Riddler.’ Bullock and Lucius Fox get caught up in Nygma’s mind games, while Gordon learns troubling news about his father’s death. Meanwhile, the Court of the Owls reveals its next move.”

Speaking of the Court of Owls, David Mazouz, the actor who plays young Bruce Wayne, teased that they will be heavily involved in the next few episodes.

“The Court of Owls will become extremely present in the last eight episodes. At the center of their plans is Bruce Wayne — Bruce and 514A are instrumental to that plan. Something huge will happen with Bruce and the Court of Owls that will change him forever and ultimately help transform him into the man we know he has to become,” he told Comic Book Resources.

The person who will help Bruce with that transition is Ra’s al Ghul (Alexander Siddig), the leader of the League of Shadows. When Mazouz heard that he will be introduced this season, he got very excited.

“When I found out that Ra’s al Ghul was coming to the show, flipped out isn’t enough. I was so exuberantly excited,” the actor confessed to Screener. “Ra’s al Ghul has always been one of my favorite characters. He is what makes Batman Batman. He really is, in a lot of ways in comics and in ‘Batman Begins,’ he is Batman’s first enemy.”

After Ra’s al Ghul’s introduction, Mazouz guarantees that Bruce will forever be changed. “Bruce will never ever be the same, and I don’t think he’ll ever fully recover from what’s coming,” he said.

“Gotham” returns on Monday, April 24 on FOX.
