Grace Vanderwaal recently shared some details about her upcoming album, “Perfectly Imperfect,” via Instagram.
Over the weekend, the 12-year-old winner of “America’s Got Talent” Season 11 posted a short teaser of her carrier single, “I Don’t Know My Name.” Posted along with the song is the cover art for her album. The white cover has the singer and the album’s name on top. In the middle is a photo of herself. Part of her face is covered with colorful doodles which extend to the top-left side of the album cover.
Vanderwaal also announced that her album will be available starting Dec. 2. Even though she didn’t share which songs will be part of her EP, there are speculations that it will include all of the tracks that she performed in the hit NBC reality TV competition. During her audition, Vanderwaal sang her original song, “I Don’t Know My Name.” She moved on to the live shows immediately after receiving the golden buzzer from judge Howie Mandel. In the quarterfinals, she performed “Beautiful Thing,” while in the semifinals, she sang “Light the Sky.” In the finale, Vanderwaal impressed the judges and audience with her original song, “Clay.”
A teaser of Vanderwaal’s “Perfectly Imperfect” album was also shared on the singer’s Vevo channel. The two-minute video opened with footage of Vanderwaal performing her hit song. It also featured clips from the singer’s recording sessions and more. In the video, Vanderwaal dubbed music as her “therapist” and a “bubble” where she can be herself. When listening to her music, Vanderwaal shared that she wants her fans to always feel something, regardless of whether it’s happiness or sadness. “I feel that’s what makes a great song,” she said.
Vanderwaal won $1 million in “America’s Got Talent” Season 11. Since then, she has also performed in Las Vegas for her three-day concert.
