'The Green Knight': Fans Praise Dev Patel After New Film's Trailer Release
The trailer for “The Green Knight” has made its star actor a trending topic on Twitter.
As IMDb reports, Dev Patel stars as Sir Gawain, King Arthur's stubborn and rebellious nephew, who takes on a daring journey to approach the Green Knight, "a gigantic emerald-skinned stranger and tester of men.” The teaser for the medieval film was released on Thursday.
The clip sets the scene with a message: "In a time when honor was everything, when courage made kings," before showing Sir Gwain face violent and unforeseen circumstances. These include wandering in the woods and fighting mystical creatures.
At a point in the film, Patel's character says, “I fear I’m not meant for greatness,” to which another character replies, “We all fear, but fear can be a gift.”
The action-packed footage has fans drooling over Patel.
One even used Patel’s character’s name for a clever joke.
Others just seemed infatuated with everything Patel has to offer.
Sean Harris also stars in the film as King Arthur and Ralph Ineson plays the infamous Green Knight. Other actors who appear in the highly anticipated movie include Sarita Choudhury, Joel Edgerton, and Alicia Vikander.
When it comes to Patel, he has also starred in "Modern Love," an Amazon Video web series, as a character by the name of Joshua. He is more popularly known for his role in the film "Slum Dog Millionaire" and has appeared in several other movies including "Chappie" and "The Last Airbender." As for his 2020 projects, Patel is also starring in “The Personal History of David Copperfield,” a re-telling of the Charles Dickens novel. The trailer for that film was also released on Thursday.
Fans are in full support of Patel and his representation in these new films.
“The Personal History of David Copperfield” hits theaters on May 8. Fans can see the “The Green Knight” on the big screen on May 29.
