Greta Thunberg’s celebrity status is becoming bigger every day. After being nominated the person of the year by Time Magazine, the teenager is reportedly the subject of a documentary on her life.

Video streaming service Hulu is working on an original documentary documenting her rise as a climate change activist.

The documentary will be produced by Cecilia Nessen and Frederik Heinig via B-Reel Films and directed by Nathan Grossman, Deadline reported Monday.

Thunberg’s rise from being a 15-year-old student in Sweden in her school campaigning against climate change to becoming the global ambassador for the cause is nothing short of exceptional. She made a speech that went viral on social media at the UN Climate Change Summit 2019. She asked adults of the world – if you don’t care about my future on earth, why should I care about my future in school?

Her strike created a global furor and made the teenager, who is on the autism spectrum, a world-famous climate change activist.

The team behind the documentary has been following her from her school days all the way to international summits, protests, and parliaments. It has been documenting her efforts for highlighting the urgency of the climate change crisis. Hulu came on board a while ago and has been involved with the team behind the scenes since then.

Thunberg is the youngest person to date to be nominated for the 'person of the year' recognition. She has been repeatedly made fun of by President Donald Trump, whose team recently tweeted a picture of his superimposed on her face on the Time Magazine cover.

While being pilloried by people on the right, such as Trump, she has received a lot of support from people on the left such as Michelle Obama, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Woody Harrelson. She was also featured in the 'Saturday Night Live Cold Open' alongside the show’s lead Kate Mckinnon.

The documentary will add to Hulu’s repertoire of original documentaries such as 'Minding the Gap', 'Ask Dr. Ruth' and 'Hillary.'
