‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 11 Spoilers: Behind-The-Scenes Photo Shows Cast Channeling ‘Orange Is The New Black’
Looks like blue is the new black! The cast of “Grey’s Anatomy” released a behind-the-scenes photo from the set of Season 11 that showed the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital gang channeling their inner rebels.
The image, posted to Ellen Pompeo’s Whosay account, exposed the cast from the hit ABC medical drama imitating our favorite Litchfield prisoners from the Netflix original drama “Orange Is the New Black.” Pompeo braided her tresses like inmate Tricia Miller, who was killed off during Season 1 by a drug overdose, while Sara Ramirez went full-on sexy Alex Vause. She even sported the glasses! Another “Grey’s Anatomy” character braided her hair in the fashion of Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren.
The adorable photo is just another reason to get “Grey’s” fans excited for Season 11, which starts next Thursday. So far ABC has teased fans with a sneak peek at the premiere episode, “I Must Have Lost It on the Wind.” The video revealed an awkward situation two teenagers find themselves in during the first episode of the new season.
In addition to a cringeworthy moment between patients, it’s been teased that Mer-Der will face their own awkward obstacles when the two continue their argument over Washington. “Meredith struggles to regain a sense of normalcy both at home and in the hospital,” the synopsis explained, adding that Callie and Arizona will come to a decision about surrogacy, Amelia will overhear a big secret, and Bailey and Alex will duke it out over Cristina’s board seat.
Sandra Oh’s character made her last appearance on the long-running series during the Season 10 finale. Cristina’s position as head of cardiothoracic surgery went to Margaret “Maggie” Pierce, a credible surgeon who interviewed at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital because it was where her birth mother worked and made a name for herself. As it turns out, Maggie is the love child of Ellis Grey and Dr. Richard Webber. How’s that for a cliffhanger?
