‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 11 Spoilers: Will Derek Take The Job In Washington D.C. During The Winter Finale? Watch Episode 8 Sneak Peek Video
Who’s ready for an intense Season 11 winter finale of “Grey’s Anatomy”? The hit ABC medical drama will air its last episode of the year Thursday night. And according to reports, mastermind Shonda Rhimes will leave viewers on an anxious note when episode 8 concludes.
Not only will Stephanie (Jerrika Hinton) find something alarming in April’s (Sarah Drew) ultrasound, but it seems everyone’s favorite Grey Sloan couple will be butting heads once again when Mr. President comes to town.
OK, so maybe President Obama won’t be making an appearance on the ABC series, but according to a sneak peek video of episode 8, “Risk,” he will be sending someone to do his bidding in Thursday’s installment.
Remember when Derek (Patrick Dempsey) turned down a job to do brain-mapping for the commander-in-chief (which would cause him to move from Seattle to D.C.)? Well, it looks like the president isn’t taking no for an answer. Derek will be approached in “Risk” by a very persistent government official to renew the offer. But will he let his dream job slip through his fingers a second time?
Since the episode 8 synopsis teases that his marital discord with Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) will intensify, Derek may be more inclined to pay the East Coast a long visit.
“Dr. Shepard, do you have a minute?” the official asks as Derek rushes away. “Dr. Shepard, I was asked by the president. We didn’t get a chance to meet when you were in Washington. I’m the special assistant to the president of the United States.”
“He asked you to talk to me?” Derek replies, a bit stunned.
“About leadership of the brain-mapping initiative,” she responds.
But Derek doesn’t quite grasp what she’s doing at Grey Sloan. He’s had this conversation before and turned the offer down.
“Oh, I remember. You told him no. Confidentially, he doesn’t love being told no. He thought another conversation was the least you could do for him. Those were the words of the president,” she says, adding that she’ll wait for Derek’s answer. “I’ll be around.”
