‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 12 Spoilers: Are Owen And Amelia Getting Married? Actor Teases Possible Engagement
Things are about to get pretty serious in the Season 12 storyline of “Grey’s Anatomy,” and we’re not referring to the deadly finale, which is just one episode away. We’re talking about the relationships within the walls of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital that are about to take a serious turn, especially the lengthy and tumultuous romance between Owen and Amelia.
Kevin McKidd, who portrays Owen on ABC’s hit series, dished to TVLine that his character is “going to take a huge step” in his relationship with Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) during episode 23. The leap will involve the recently recommitted twosome asking each other the question: “What is the future for us?”
And, according to the forthcoming installment’s promotional video, their future may involve wedding bells. The “At Last” episode trailer teases there will be “one shocking hookup and two jaw-dropping proposals” Thursday night. Considering Owen and Amelia have been locking lips within the hospital and in Meredith’s (Ellen Pompeo) living room throughout Season 12, we have a feeling these lovebirds may constitute one of the two couples getting hitched.
McKidd described the impending talk between Owen and Amelia as “really beautiful and romantic.” Hmm, could Owen be preparing himself for a second wedding? If Owen does pop the question to Amelia, it’ll mark his third engagement.
Owen was first engaged to a woman named Beth Whitman (Laura Allen) but ultimately broke it off in a two-line email. Owen then proposed to Cristina (Sandra Oh) before marrying the surgeon in the Season 7 premiere. The two tied the knot at Meredith’s home. However, the duo divorced at the end of Season 9. Now, two seasons later, it looks like Owen will be slipping a dazzling ring onto the finger of his new leading lady.
Do you think Owen and Amelia will get engaged? Sound off in the comments below with your theories. “Grey’s Anatomy” airs on ABC Thursdays at 8 p.m. EDT.
