‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 12 Spoilers: Episode 16 Sneak Peek Teases Trouble For Maggie And DeLuca
Maggie (Kelly McCreary) doesn’t have time for games. The brilliant head of cardiothoracic is elbow deep in performing surgeries and solving medical mysteries, which is why she’ll call out her Season 12 beau, DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti), for messing with her mind — and heart — in episode 16 of “Grey’s Anatomy.”
In the upcoming ABC installment, titled “When It Hurts So Bad,” Maggie will confront DeLuca about their relationship — or lack there of. DeLuca has been dodging Maggie in the halls and ignoring her phone calls because he’s been trying to distance himself from her. According to DeLuca, he’s nervous that his fellow residents, who recently complained to him about the nepotism occurring throughout Grey Sloan, will accuse him of receiving special treatment because he’s dating the “prom queen” of the hospital.
But it’s because of DeLuca that his relationship with Maggie went public in the first place. In a previous episode, the brown-haired hunk explained to Maggie that he was frustrated that their steamy romance was being kept a secret. So, wanting to appease him, Maggie revealed to her co-workers that she was dating her resident, a confession she struggled to admit. However, little did Maggie know that DeLuca changed his mind moments before she spilled the beans of their hot and heavy romance.
“You’re avoiding me. I’ve called, you haven’t answered,” she says to him in a sneak-peek video. “What’s really going on here?”
DeLuca is at a loss for words and begins to awkwardly mutter something. Maggie cuts off his stammering and tells him to be straightforward with her.
“Ok, look … I’m very busy I have many, many things on my plate. I just don’t have time or patience to play childish guessing games. Do you want to be with me or not?” she asks.
But the tongue-tied doctor's lingering silence says it all.
