Things aren’t looking so good for our favorite Grey Sloan couple. According to the Season 12 synopsis of the hit ABC series “Grey’s Anatomy,” audiences can expect drama to unfold in April (Sarah Drew) and Jackson’s (Jesse William) relationship during episode 16, titled “When It Hurts So Bad.”

The divorced duo will still be at odds following the news of April’s pregnancy. In episode 15, Jackson revealed he thought April should have informed him that she was carrying his child instead of keeping her pregnancy a secret.

“You don’t think a pregnancy would have factored in to my decision to move forward with the divorce?” he asked her. But April knew it would have and that’s why she decided against telling him — she didn’t want Jackson to stay with her just because she was carrying his baby.

But in episode 16, things will get shaken up for the couple when Jackson’s mother Catherine (Debbie Allen) comes into town. Can Catherine prevent this relationship from flatlining?

Japril won’t be the only star of this episode. According to the episode 16 synopsis, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) will take “a step forward” with Will (Scott Elrod) but will end up quickly regretting it. Maybe the widow of the late Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) isn’t ready just yet to dive back into the pool of dating … no matter how cute her potential suitor is.

Meredith and Will met in episode 13 of “Grey’s Anatomy” at the military hospital where Will worked. Mer, and a few of her fellow surgeons, were asked to make the trek to the military facility to perform an elaborate surgery. Will took advantage of Meredith’s overnight stay to flirt with the single doc. And his charming tactics paid of,f because before Mer hightailed it back to Seattle, she ended up giving Will her number —and then accepting a date with him in episode 15.

Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) will also “re-evaluate her relationship” with Owen (Kevin McKidd) in the coming episode while Maggie (Kelly McCreary) will begin to sense a disconnection between herself and Andrew (Giacomo Gianniotti).

“Grey’s Anatomy” airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
