‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Season 12 Spoilers: Episode 23 Synopsis Released; What Will Happen In ‘At Last’? [VIDEO]
The judge may have slammed her gavel in episode 22 of “Grey’s Anatomy,” but that doesn’t mean the drama is over. In the upcoming Season 12 installment of the hit ABC drama, fans will watch Callie and Arizona try to work together following their heart-wrenching custody battle. (Emphasis on the “try.”)
Kevin McKidd, who portrays Owen on the medical drama, dished that in episode 23, titled “At Last,” Sofia’s (Eva Ariel Binder) mothers will have a difficult time working together at Grey Sloan Memorial after Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) is granted sole guardianship of their daughter.
“They try to be professional, but it’s hard when there are hurt feelings like that,” the actor told TVLine.
In episode 22, the two went to court to fight for custody of their daughter. But in the end, it was Arizona who the judge thought was better suited to raise Sofia — even when Callie’s (Sara Ramirez) attorney got dirty, calling out Arizona’s hectic surgery schedule and her trivia dates with Weber (James Pickens Jr.)
But with the sour comes the sweet. According to the promo video for next week’s episode, there will be “one shocking hookup and two jaw-dropping proposals.” But who has the potential of getting hitched? Well the synopsis teases that Owen and Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) will “take their relationship to the next level” in episode 23 while Alex (Justin Chambers) “gains some clarity on his future with Jo (Camilla Luddington).”
The trailer for the forthcoming installment also teases that Stephanie (Jerrika Hinton) will lock lips with Kyle (Wilmer Valderrama) after her ex is readmitted to the hospital for meningitis. In episode 22, Stephanie saw her former beau’s name written on the charts, which is when she raced to his room to find out what had happened. But Kyle was still bitter about their breakup and had Stephanie banned from his room — a decision he appears to have reversed in Thursday’s episode.
“Grey’s Anatomy” airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
