‘GTA 6’ Update: Major Reason Why Game Hasn’t Been Announced Yet
While “GTA 6” continues to be one of the most anticipated video game titles today, game developer Rockstar Games continues to remain silent about the much awaited entry in the “Grand Theft Auto” franchise. Why are the developers silent about it? A report offers one possible major reason.
Many rumors about “GTA 6” already made their rounds on the internet, causing many fans to get hyped about the title.
Earlier rumors
Earlier, there was an alleged Rockstar employee who claimed to have worked on the game, saying that it is coming real soon. Then, there were rumors saying that the game will be exclusive to Sony’s upcoming game console for a month after being released.
Some rumors also claimed that the game will take players to familiar locations already featured in previous “GTA” titles, and will put players in the shoes of someone who needs to do all sorts of things in order to get to the top.
Rockstar stayed silent about the game, fueling new rumors claiming that Rockstar might be working on a sequel to “Bully” or a new title. The rumors also said Rockstar will announce them in the future along with or instead of “GTA 6.”
That rumor was then replaced with a new one that claimed “GTA 6” might be released for Google’s upcoming game streaming service, Google Stadia. This is because someone from Rockstar Games’ parent company, Take-Two Interactive, has claimed that the game company is interested in game streaming.
Then, suddenly, new rumors emerged claiming that “GTA 6” might be coming soon, thanks to a YouTube video that showed how “GTA 5” looks like with Ray Tracing technology applied on it. Sony’s next-gen system is said to feature Ray Tracing technology, and is expected to run “GTA 6.”
Why the silence?
So far, fans have nothing but rumors about “GTA 6.” Even now, Rockstar continues to stay silent about the title. This silence could very well be attributed to “the political landscape” currently faced by the nation, the Express reported, citing a YouTuber named ChampChong.
The YouTuber, in a video, noted how Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser’s comments seemed to indicate that the game company is having a hard time deciding what to do with “GTA 6” given that the developers want to touch on something, but the “current climate” doesn’t allow them “to jump onboard with something.”
ChampChong then went on to say that the game company might be working on the game, but might set it in another era since it will be “more difficult and challenging for them” to set it in modern times.
