'Guardians Of The Galaxy 3': James Gunn To 'Wrap Up' Stories

James Gunn is currently busy with “Suicide Squad,” but the pre-production work of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” has started. The director has also been teasing details during his interaction with fans online, and in one such interaction he recently said that he plans to “wrap up” stories that started in the first movie.

The upcoming film may end the story arcs of some of the characters. While replying to a fan question recently, Gunn said that “if everything goes to plan,” the upcoming film will “wrap up” the stories he started in 2014, Screen Rant reported.

After the first two movies about Star Lord (Chris Pratt) and his team, the superheroes have appeared in “Avengers: Endgame.” They were last seen heading into space to look for Gamora (Zoe Saldana) from the other timeline to join the team, which opens the door for her return in the upcoming film.

There are fan theories that suggest Thor (Chris Hemsworth) will join the superhero team in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.” The God of Thunder was last seen with the team when they headed out into space, but it remains to be seen if he will join them.

Gunn previous confirmed that the upcoming film is set after the events of “Avengers: Endgame,” ComicBook reported. That means they will be dealing with the events that happened during the fight against Thanos (Josh Brolin). The director also confirmed that he knew the story in the “Avengers” movies before he wrote the script of the upcoming film.

The big question everyone has is about who will be the main villain in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.” Gunn previously admitted he has had discussions about Silver Surfer and Galactus as possible villains in the upcoming film, CBR reported. Galactus is a character who lives by consuming entire worlds, and he may have been affected when Thanos destroyed half the life in the universe.
