'Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3': Expect 'Great Things' For Star-Lord, Mantis
KEY POINTS
- James Gunn discussed "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" with fans
- Star Lord and Mantis have "great things" coming up
- Yondu will not be coming back
James Gunn will soon be starting his directorial work for “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” and he recently teased some details about the film while interacting with the fans. Gunn has his favorites when it comes to the characters in his films, which include Rocket (Bradley Cooper) and Nebula (Karen Gillan), but he teased “great things” for two other characters.
Gunn decided to answer a few fan questions about his films in an online Q& A session on Instagram recently, CBR reported. Replying to a fan question, the director said that he probably liked writing the arcs of Nebula and Rocket the most, but he added that there are “great things coming up” for Star Lord (Chris Pratt) and Mantis (Pom Klementieff).
One aspect of the “Guardians of the Galaxy” franchise, according to Gunn, is that the arcs of the main characters take place over three films. Most other movies have arcs for different characters in the same movie, which is different from what Gunn is doing.
Another thing that is different in Gunn’s movies is that the dead characters don’t return. Yondu (Michael Rooker) became a fan favorite character after the events in the sequel, but Gunn has confirmed that the character will not be coming back, We Got This Covered reported.
Several dead characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) have managed to return after their deaths. However, Gunn said that he believes that stakes are important. This, however, doesn’t mean that another director won’t be able to bring back Yondu in the future.
Gunn is currently busy with “The Suicide Squad” movie. In a happy New Year message to the fans on Twitter, the director said that he is having the time of his life making all these movies and he also thanked everyone for their support.
“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” doesn’t have a release date yet. More details may be revealed when the production begins.
