Someone is going to die in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.” Director James Gunn, who has been teasing details about his upcoming Marvel film, revealed on social media that one of the characters in the movie will die.

Gunn doesn’t share any spoilers from his films, and when a fan asked him on Instagram if there will be a death in the upcoming film, he simply replied with “yes,” Screen Rant reported. He did not reveal who will die in the film.

Some of the major characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) have died in the recent years. While some of these characters have come back, the others haven’t. It remains to be seen if the death Gunn spoke about is that of one of the main characters or if it is someone that the fans will not miss in the future.

Gunn has already confirmed that Rocket’s (Voice by Bradley Cooper) will be a big part of the story in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.” The fans will learn more about the backstory of the character, and the film will end the character’s arc with the upcoming film. Will Rocket die in the next film?

Another character who will get a bigger role in the next film is Kraglin (Sean Gunn). James revealed this information while answering fan questions during a live Q&A on Instagram, Screen Rant reported. Kraglin is a part of the Ravager group that was previously led by Yondu (Michael Rooker). It remains to be seen how the character will play a bigger role in the group and in the story after Yondu’s exit.

The script of the upcoming MCU film is ready, but he filming is yet to commence. James recently confirmed on Twitter that there has been no changes in the production schedule of the film because of the coronavirus lockdown.

“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” is set to be released in 2021. The producers are yet to announce an exact release date. It remains to be seen if the ongoing lockdown because of the coronavirus pandemic will force Marvel to make any changes in the production schedule of the film.
