Gwen Stefani Can't Avoid Questions About Boyfriend Blake Shelton On 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' [VIDEO]
Ever since the word got out that “The Voice” coaches Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are dating, the duo has been able to duck questions about their recent pairing in the media. However, one talk show host wasn’t about to let the former No Doubt singer off the hook without getting her to talk about her new romance.
During a recent appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” Stefani finally opened up about a great many things, including her divorce and being on the hit NBC competition show. Although it took a bit of digging, the host was able to get her to blush a bit while talking about Shelton.
In the video below, the two talk about Stefani's previous appearance on the show two weeks ago when she debuted her single “Used to Love You.” That’s when the artist got personal and began to talk about her recent divorce from musician Gavin Rossdale. DeGeneres mentioned that she believes the singer has “turned a corner” recently and seems to be doing better. Stefani attributed that to her time being surrounded by music on “The Voice,” which led the conversation directly to Shelton.
As E! Online notes, at first it seemed like DeGeneres was beating around the bush and trying not to bring the relationship up. When it looked like Stefani was going to avoid directly talking about her new boyfriend, a picture of her sitting on the country singer’s lap showed up on screen, forcing the 46-year-old singer to acknowledge what the public has been talking about for weeks. While she didn’t directly confirm they’re dating, especially after hinting to TMZ that they aren’t, she did have kind words to say about her fellow coach.
“I did not know this about him because I didn’t even know who he was before I was on the show. Before I was on ‘The Voice’ I never heard of him before. I didn’t. I hadn’t…” she said as the crowd reacted in shock. “I’m an O.C. girl. Like, what would I know? But he knows every single 80s song. He literally is a musical jukebox. He knows everything about music, it’s crazy.”
The host then threw her last dirty interview trick at Stefani by asking: “And he’s a good kisser, or no?” to which the singer simply blushed.
Shelton and Stefani announced they were dating just hours before the 2015 CMA Awards. At the time, neither had been separated from their previous marriage for very long -- Stefani from Rossdale and Shelton from Miranda Lambert, but they clearly found something in each other during their brief time working on “The Voice.” However, with the exception of a small wink to it here and there, they’ve done almost nothing to acknowledge their relationship in public so far.
