In another stunning act of hacking, a group thought to be an offshoot of the Anonymous broke into Fox News Twitter account and tweeted that President Obama was killed.

The tweet said Obama was shot twice at a Ross' restaurant in Iowa while campaigning. RIP Obama, best regards to the Obama family.

It has been reported that a group calling themselves the Script Kiddies was behind the attack. President Obama was in fact spending his July 4th holiday. Fox News apologized for the hoax and the confusion it created.

Hackers sent out several malicious and false tweets claiming that President Obama had been assassinated ... Those reports are incorrect, of course, and the president is spending the July 4 holiday with his family. The hacking is being investigated, and FoxNews.com regrets any distress the false tweets may have created, Fox News said.
