Is Halle Berry Getting Divorced? Actress Lost Engagement Ring Over A Year Ago In Mexico: Report

Reports of a looming divorce between Halle Berry and French actor Olivier Martinez -- that began doing the rounds after the actress was spotted in Los Angeles last month without her engagement ring -- may not be true. Sources told TMZ that Berry was not seen wearing the ring because she lost it in Mexico a year and a half ago.

The sources reportedly said that Berry lost the ring in January last year at the Acapulco International Film Festival where she received the Silver Jaguar Award. The sources added that the ring either fell off her hand or she left it at the table and someone took it. The couple did not replace the ring because the two did not think it as a priority, TMZ reported.

TMZ also noted that the “X-Men: Days of Future Past” star is seen wearing her wedding band regularly. The report added that there have not been any discussions with an attorney so far.

A report by Radar Online Monday cited a source close to the couple as saying that a divorce between Berry and Martinez was imminent. Insiders also reportedly said that troubles between the two started last October and they have not been photographed together since January.

The source told Radar Online that Martinez’s temper issues may be the central cause of the split between the star couple. In 2012, Martinez got involved in a brawl with Berry's former partner Gabriel Aubry and daughter Nahla at her home. In January, he reportedly tried to hit an airport employee with a car seat, which was caught on camera. However, Martinez was not charged for the incident.

According to the source, Berry asked him to attend counseling sessions but they have not helped much.

“It seems Halle and Olivier have finally hit the end of the road,” a source told Radar Online last month, adding: “They’ve weathered a lot of ups and downs in their relationship, but recently Olivier has been completely MIA.”
