Hallmark Channel’s ‘The Sweetest Christmas’ Premiere: Meet The Cast, Watch Trailer
Time to welcome back Hallmark Channel favorite Lacey Chabert into our holidays as her new Hallmark Channel Countdown to Christmas movie premieres on Saturday night.
The film, “The Sweetest Christmas,” is just the latest Hallmark flick for the channel’s all-star, but her partner-in-crime and love interest in the film, Lea Coco, is brand new to the network.
The actor has had roles on “The Client List,” “Millennial Parents” and “Queen Sugar,” but this will be his first time in the TV movie circuit. Luckily, he’s matched up with Chabert, who, with past Hallmark movies like “A Royal Christmas,” “All of My Heart” and “A Wish for Christmas,” has a lot of experience.
Now, the on-screen couple are taking their combined acting experience and coming together to create chemistry and to help give their characters the sweetest of romances, just like the title suggests.
“Shortly after breaking up with her long-term boyfriend, Kylie (Chabert) reconnects with her high school sweetheart, Nick (Coco) around the holidays,” the film’s synopsis begins. “Nick, a divorced father, owns a local restaurant and seems to still hold a flame for Kylie. His newly rekindled friendship with her opens his eyes to the importance of Christmas traditions — especially for his son, Bobby (Brendan Sunderland).”
Though, they’ve broken up, Kylie continues her job at her recent ex-boyfriend Alex’s (Lane Edwards) real estate company, which is a bit awkward since he still wants to be with her. But Kylie needs to keep working to save enough money to go after her real dream, which is baking.
“In hopes of saving enough money to open her own bakery, she lives with her sister, Tina’s (Lara Gilchrist) family, and every year, she enters a Christmas gingerbread house competition with a large cash prize,” the synopsis continues. “Two weeks before the big competition, she discovers that her entry has been accepted! Unfortunately, Tina’s oven breaks just as she’s about to start preparing for the competition.”
No real worries for Kylie, though, as Nick comes to her rescue and lets her use his restaurant’s kitchen to prepare. It’s during this time that she starts to bond with Nick again and, this time, his son, too.
“As they spend more time together, familiar romantic feelings begin to grow between Kylie and Nick — making decorating for the holidays and helping Bobby with a school party even more special,” the summary teases.
Unfortunately, a later “disagreement threatens to squash Kylie and Nick’s blooming romance.”
Will the duo be able to fight their way past the disagreement and to each other? Will Kylie win both the baking competition and the competition for Nick’s heart?
Find out when “The Sweetest Christmas” premieres on Hallmark Channel on Saturday at 8 p.m. EST.
