Actress and fashion icon Marilyn Monroe would have been 85 today.
Born Norma Jeane Mortenson, Monroe died tragically in 1962 at the age of 36 from a barbituate overdose. Monroe took the nation by storm and became a pop-culture and world-wide fashion icon through her movies like Seven Year Itch and Some Like it Hot. Her fashion sense and clothing have become legend like the famous white halter-dress and the pink, strapless Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend dress.

The new US postage stamp commemorating actress Marilyn Monroe, was unveiled in New York January 5, 1995. Men's Health magazine has named Monroe as the third most hot woman of all time in a recent poll.
