Harrison Ford Update: Wife Calista Flockhart Is Spending All Of Her Spare Time At 'Star Wars' Actor's Bedside
Harrison Ford is still recovering from a recent plane accident that left the “Star Wars” actor hospitalized. Luckily, doctors say he’ll recover, a process that’s made all the easier thanks to the constant presence of his wife, Calista Flockhart.
According to a new article from People Magazine, Ford’s wife of 5 years, Flockhart, has been diligently reporting to his bedside every morning since the accident. The outlet claims the 50-year-old former “Ally McBeal” star drives their 14-year-old adopted son Liam to school each morning before heading to the Los Angeles hospital where Ford is recuperating. A source close to the actor claims that Flockhart brings him food and reading material to help pass the time of his recovery. The 72-year-old actor is laid up with a broken ankle, a broken pelvis and large gash in his forehead.
Luckily, it takes quite a lot to take down Han Solo, Indiana Jones and Rick Deckard. Despite the crash and injuries, doctors reportedly say he’ll make a full recovery and that his scars from the accident will heal and fade away. Still, it was likely a scary situation early-on for the Ford household. Early reports indicate that Flcokhart forbid her husband from flying anymore – not an altogether unwise decision as this is his third aviation-related crash during his time as an amateur pilot.
Although Daily Mail reports that she was “under stress” during the first few days of her husband’s recovery, she was recently photographed on her way to visit Ford in the hospital appearing in better spirits. She even smiled and gave a wave to the paparazzi.
Ford was flying an antique World War II-era plane earlier this month when its engine gave out almost immediately after takeoff. Being an experienced pilot, he managed to turn the plane around and was on track to land back at the airstrip when his wing reportedly clipped a tree. He was forced to make a crash landing on a nearby golf course and was rescued by doctors who happened to be playing at the time.
