‘Hart Of Dixie’ Cancelled Or Renewed? Hope Dies As Stars Tweet About Wrapping Season 4
“Hart Of Dixie” fans are anxiously awaiting the show’s return date to be announced, but those who have been following the cast on social media are awaiting another announcement -- they want to know if the show is canceled. As the cast finished filming Season 4, some stars implied that they wouldn’t be returning to the CW show.
Wilson Bethel plays a large role on the show as Zoe’s love interest, Wade. Last season’s cliffhanger showed Zoe declaring her love for Wade, but it looks like Bethel doesn’t think he is coming back for Season 5. Bethel posted a goodbye to his character on Twitter.
Scott Porter, who plays George Tucker, also implied that Season 4 was the end of the show. He cried at the end of the show as he left Bethel and Cress Williams, who plays Lavon Hayes. Like Bethel, Porter has also been with “Hart Of Dixie” since Season 1.
Other actors have been taking new jobs. Tony Cavalero played Crickett’s (Brandi Burkhardt) husband Stanley, but Cavalero will be busy in the new “School Of Rock” series. He’ll take over Jack Black’s role from the film version, the Wrap reported.
This doesn’t assure fans of the CW drama. After moving to Friday nights, the show’s ratings suffered in Season 3. The finale had less than a million viewers, and “Hart Of Dixie” Season 4 was only given 10 episodes. Over the summer, CW President Mark Pedowitz attempted to assure fans at the Television Critic’s Association that the small episode order didn’t mean anything for the future of the series. “We’re doing 10 episodes this year, and we’re looking forward to seeing what happens,” Pedowitz said, according to TV Line.
“Hart Of Dixie” Season 4 still doesn’t have a release date, but fans know that Zoe will have a pregnancy to accommodate Rachel Bilson’s real-life baby bump. They just aren’t sure who the father is yet.
