'Hart Of Dixie' Season 4 Premiere Date Announced Amid Cancellation Rumors

UPDATE: The premiere has been moved up to Monday, Dec. 15, 2014 at 8 p.m. EST.

“Hart Of Dixie” fans have had two burning questions for months now: when does “Hart Of Dixie” Season 4 premiere and is it canceled? While the CW has skirted around the latter question, they finally answered the first question. “Hart Of Dixie” Season 4 premieres Friday, Jan. 9 at 9 p.m. EST, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The new season will only have 10 episodes due to star Rachel Bilson’s pregnancy. Though her character Zoe will also have a baby on the way, Bilson is reportedly taking a full maternity leave. Still, fans have wondered if these 10 episodes will be the last for “Hart Of Dixie.”

The show has already wrapped filming Season 4 and some cast members aren’t sure if they’re coming back. Wade (Wilson Bethel) and George (Scott Porter) have been around since the beginning of “Hart Of Dixie,” but as previously reported, both seemed to be saying goodbye to the show on social media.

Bethel said that he knew as much as fans did -- which isn't much. “There seemed to be indications that maybe potentially this could be the last season. ... Storywise, it started to kind of feel in that way,” Bethel told Yahoo TV. “In terms of some of the hullaballoo around certain tweets that were sent, it was basically preparing for that possibility.”

Porter agreed that "Hart Of Dixie" could come back for Season 5, but he stressed that fans need to help them by tuning in. “I would love to come back and be a part of Bluebell again -- and there’s a chance -- but we really need the support of the fans to be able to come back,” Porter said. “If people don’t watch, then shows don’t come back, so we just need a little help.”

Fans will be thrilled to hear about an air date, but they might not be excited to know that "Hart Of Dixie" will stay in the same Friday night timeslot. In that time slot, the show brought in under a million viewers for the Season 3 finale, which is one of the main reasons viewers are concerned that the show could be canceled.
