'Hart Of Dixie' Cancelled Or Renewed? CW Responds To Season 4 Wrap Rumors
There is one question burning in the minds of “Hart Of Dixie” fans: Did the CW cancel or renew the show? The network has finally responded to the rumors, but the statement will not soothe fans’ worries.
“No decision has been made regarding the future of ‘Hart Of Dixie,’ so any discussion or reporting of whether or not the show will continue beyond the upcoming season is premature,” a CW rep told TV.com.
As previously reported, “Hart Of Dixie” fans have been worrying about the show being canceled for some time now. Their concerns started when the show was moved to Friday nights, a time slot known for low ratings. The show’s ratings did indeed slip with less than 1 million viewers tuning in for the “Hart Of Dixie” Season 3 finale.
Many fans are holding out hope for a ratings miracle in Season 4, despite the CW only ordering 10 episodes. Most shows on the network get 22 episodes per season, but a short episode order doesn’t necessarily mean cancellation. The change could simply be because of star Rachel Bilson’s real-life pregnancy.
However, when the actors tweeted about wrapping “Hart Of Dixie” Season 4, it seemed they weren’t expecting the show to be renewed. Most concerning was Wilson Bethel’s tweet about saying goodbye to his character Wade Kinsella. He has been with the show since the beginning, and he is Zoe’s (Rachel Bilson) love interest.
Scott Porter, who plays George Tucker, has also been around for all four seasons and posted a goodbye message on Instagram.
“And the sun sets on #BlueBell. Thanks for an amazing 4 years. #HartOfDixie,” Porter wrote.
Despite the CW's ambiguous response to the cancellation rumors, the network still hasn’t scheduled the “Hart Of Dixie” Season 4 premiere date.
