They’re a famously reclusive couple who avoid the spotlight as much as possible in favor of a private life, but that is once again leading to false claims that Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are headed for a split.

The couple, who have been together since 2011 and have two daughters together, are once again at the focus of nasty split rumors, after reports which claim Gosling is furious that his longtime partner does not make him or his career a priority.

The initial story from Yahoo Australia claimed that Gosling was upset because Mendes was not present to support him during awards season for “La La Land,” but found time to promote the opening of a new store for New York & Company in Miami a few weeks later.

“Eva’s decision to instead [promote] her new clothing line on the other side of the United States strained the couple’s relationship,” a source reportedly claimed. “He’s mad she didn’t want to support him for his big Oscars night, but somehow it’s a priority for her to support a retail store? He was yelling, ‘What the…kind of priorities are those?’ If it wasn’t for the kids, I don’t think they would have any kind of relationship right now.”

The reports have since been debunked by Gossip Cop as untrue, and are allegedly just recycled versions of stories that were previously run in both Star and OK! Magazines.

This isn’t the first time that Gosling and Mendes have been reported as being on the verge of a split however, with their private lifestyle often leading to large amounts of speculation about their relationship throughout their time together. With Gosling’s increased publicity due to awards season and his promotion of “La La Land,” the third movie he starred in as co-star Emma Stone’s love interest, rumors have only increased in recent months.

Before the newest report, a since debunked story from OK! claimed that Gosling was on the verge of ending things because he was “humiliated” by reports that Mendes had two-timed him with Australian TV host Richard Wilkins.

“Ryan’s humiliated that Eva never told him about this man,” sources claimed at the time. “Now he can’t help but wonder what else she’s hiding from him. He’s ready to throw in the towel.”

Stone has often been the focus of stories about the pair splitting up as well, ever since news broke in 2015 that she and Gosling were going to star opposite one another for the third time. Since then, several outlets often published reports that she was causing problems for Gosling because Mendes was threatened by the pair’s relationship, and Radar Online even insisted recently that in an effort to ease Mendes’ mind, Gosling suggested having another baby together, but she refused.

“Ryan keeps insisting that there’s nothing going on with Emma,” a source told the website. “He is hoping that another baby will make Eva see how committed he is to her. But Eva is fed up, because she feels like Ryan has turned her into a baby-making machine.”

However, that report, and several others along the same vein, were also proven not to be true.
