Fox News anchor Heather Childers roused controversy on Tuesday when she posted on Twitter questioning the Obama campaign's intent and threats to murder Chelsea Clinton.

Childers tweeted an article from Godfather Politics on Tuesday, posing the question, Thoughts? Did Obama Campaign Threaten Chelsea Clinton's Life 2 Keep parents Silent? Godfather Politics.

The article was entitled, Did Barack Obama Campaign Threaten Life of Chelsea Clinton to Keep Parents Silent on Obama's Ineligibility? and posed the claim that while Obama, then a senator, was running for the 2008 presidential campaign, he threated to murder Chelsea Clinton in order to keep former President Bill Clinton from speaking about Obama's birth certificate or lack thereof. The author of the article, da Tagliare, suggests that Bettina Viviano threatened people to hide his secrets regarding eligbility and that Obama told Clinton that his daughter Chelsea would be next if he opened his mouth.

Childers, the anchor for Fox's weekend program America's News Headquarters and co-host of Fox & Friends, immediately received a flood of comments on Twitter criticizing her for posting the article, namely one harsh comment from Ari Rabin-Havt, the executive vice president at Media Matters.

Your skills are impressive @HeatherChilders Birtherism/Clinton conspiracy in 1 tweet. Does Fox News give you special training for that? Rabin-Havt tweeted.

Childers responded to Rabin-Havt saying she only posted the article to start dialogue.

I know Media Matters strives 2b FACTUALLY correct so attach the article plz. I was asking 4 opinion, she tweeted.

In another post, not directed to Media Matters, Childers defended her post further.

Name calling... nice. Nice conversation folks. Does anyone have an actual point to make? Wow so many VERY angry people, she tweeted. Here's the thing folks... that ONE topic sure got alot [sic] of you tweeting. Why? I apologize if the article offended anyone. Very interesting.

The Twitter controversy regarding the Obama campaign prompted Fox News SVP Michael Clemente to address the post from Heather Childers in a statement to Mediaite.

The tweets have been addressed with Heather and she understands this was a mistake, Clemente told Mediaite.
