Heather Dubrow Says Her Daughter Kat Came Out As Lesbian In Family Text Group
Heather Dubrow revealed her 15-year-old daughter Kat came out as a lesbian in a family text group, one year after her 18-year-old daughter Max came out as bisexual.
"We’ve got four kids, they are different genders, different sexualities, and all at interesting places in their lives," Heather told People on Tuesday. "Figuring out who they are and where they belong as humans."
The 53-year-old actress recalled her daughter Kat opening up about her sexuality in a family group by dropping a text.
"Kat decided to drop in our family group text, 'By the way, I'm a lesbian,'" she recalled. "I didn't see it, and I was mad because the dogs pooped in the house, so I wrote back, 'Who let the dogs poop in the house?' It was a total mom fail, and they've never let me forget that."
Max, on the other hand, came out at the beginning of the pandemic to her mother in private. Heather said she didn't make a "big deal" about it.
Heather added all she cared about was creating an environment for her kids where they can all feel safe, happy and comfortable.
The actress shared she was raised by 1950s parents, and they used to talk about nothing because of which she "had no idea." However, she expressed her joy knowing that kids these days talk about "everything," which is really important.
Heather's husband, Terry Dubrow, who is a renowned plastic surgeon and also appeared on "Botched" TV show, opened up about his point of view on Kat coming out during the interview.
"Coming out with your sexuality is something that broadly affects a lot of different people," he said. "We just want people to realize it should be part of normal conversations."
On the work front, Heather was featured in a TV series, "Young & Hungry," which was dropped in 2017. She was also featured in a TV series, "Sequestered," which was released in 2014.
She has also been a regular on a reality show, "The Real Housewives of Orange County" since 2012. The actress also appeared regularly on the TV series, "Celebrity Page" since 2018.
