  • Tyson Fury sparks controversy after an Instagram post shows him at a Las Vegas car rental shop
  • Fury refused to take a second dose due to his fear it may affect his training
  • Fury's third fight against Wilder has been moved to Oct. 9 after the “Gyspy King” tested positive for COVID-19

Heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury is no stranger when it comes to defying odds.

But toying around with the threats that COVID-19 carries may be a risky one.

The 32-year-old champion tested positive for COVID-19 recently, forcing his scheduled boxing match with Deontay Wilder to be rescheduled.

It was originally set for July 24 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Fury was tested on July 5 and was notified of the positive result the next day.

Aware that even if he does not feel its effects, the threat of spreading COVID-19 to others is apparent.

Hence, Fury should have been self-isolating at the least to prevent it.

Rather than do that, an Instagram post showed the “Gypsy King” was seen visiting the Royal Exotic Cars in Las Vegas.

It appeared he stopped by the car rental shop and most in attendance were unsurprisingly awed. The caption read: “Iconic. Thanks for stopping by champ @gypsyking101.”

It was unclear if the photo was recent or a late post. Regardless, it puts Fury in a controversial light.

It somehow rekindles the statements made by Bob Arum where the boxer refused to take the second dose of a vaccine for fear that side effects may affect his preparations for the third fight against Wilder, Boxingscene reported.

“I knew he had one shot, and I was hoping it was Johnson & Johnson. But it wasn’t. It was Moderna,” Arum stated.

As a result of that Arum explained that due to Fury’s insistence not to be vaccinated, he got COVID instead.

“He got the first shot. And then he said he didn’t wanna get the second shot because he didn’t wanna get sick [from the vaccination] so close to the fight. So, he got COVID instead,” Arum stated.
