Here’s What Caused Katie Holmes, Emilio Vitolo Jr To Call It Quits: Report

Katie Holmes and Emilio Vitolo Jr. are officially no longer together after eights months of dating, and a report has claimed that their romance fizzled out ahead of their split.

The “Dawson’s Creek” alum, 42, and the chef, 33, have decided to part ways recently. However, a spokesperson for Holmes revealed to Us Weekly Thursday that the exes have chosen to remain friends.

“The pair have parted ways amicably but remain friends,” the spokesperson was quoted as saying by the entertainment news outlet.

A source with knowledge on what transpired between the two told the outlet that they had trouble making their relationship work because of their busy schedules.

“Katie and Emilio really enjoyed their time together — it just simply didn’t work out. She’s focusing on being a mom and her upcoming projects,” the source said. On the other hand, Vitolo is busy with his work at his family’s restaurant Emilio’s Ballato in New York.

Page Six reported that Holmes and Vitolo’s romance actually fizzled out ahead of their breakup. The outlet learned from an insider that the actress felt that things between them were “moving very fast” and it was hard for her since she also has a lot of big priorities as a single mom to daughter Suri Cruise, 15.

As Vitolo is based in New York, it was difficult for Holmes to maintain their romance because she has work commitments in different places. In fact, she is currently staying in Connecticut as she is filming a movie there.

In April, rumors swirled that their relationship was crumbling as Vitolo was nowhere to be seen during Suri’s 15th birthday celebration even though the mother and daughter were in NYC at the time.

Holmes and Vitolo first sparked romance rumors in September when they were spotted together at the Soho restaurant Antique Garage. At the time, Vitolo just split from 24-year-old designer Rachel Emmons after being together for two years.

After Holmes and Vitolo’s first sighting together, they made the headlines many times as they were photographed by the paparazzi packing on some PDA on different occasions around Manhattan in the same month.
