Hillary Clinton Not Seeking World Bank Position, Aide and White House Say
Hillary
A staffer for Hilary Clinton and the White House both flatly rejected that the Secretary of State is seeking the presidency of the World Bank.
White House spokesman Josh Earnest told the Atlantic that reports of Clinton weighing the post are not true.
Phillipe Raines, a longtime aide to Clinton also called the rumor completely untrue. He expanded on that in an interview with the Washington Post, saying that Clinton had not expressed interest in the job, had not talked to the White House about possibly seeking it and would not take it if offered.
That contadicts a report by Reuters yesterday that said Clinton had been in discussion with the White House about the job. A source told Reuters that Clinton wanted the job.
