“His Dark Materials” is a TV series based on the books written by Philip Pullman. Dafne Keen plays the role of the lead character Lyra Belacqua and in a recent interview, she discussed the show and her portrayal of the character.
Keen is on the cover of the latest issue of Teen Vogue magazine. In the interview, the actress discussed her life, childhood memories, and the popular HBO series. The actress revealed that she was cast for the show after a two-year long casting process.
Talking about the filming process, Keen said that she was able to do some fun things on the set. She had to ride bears, go on hot-air balloon rides and talk to animals.
Keen called her character “one of the greatest young female heroes in literature.” She said it was a “total blessing and a great honor” to be able to play this role. The best part of the show for the actress are the people involved, and she said that she has become close to many of them.
“His Dark Materials” has become a hit among the fans and the show is currently preparing to film Season 2. According to Deadline, the show is being watched by both kids and parents and it has become the biggest co-viewing hit for the network.
The first two seasons are based on the books “Northern Lights” and “The Subtle Knife.” The network is also considering a third season that will be based on “The Amber Spyglass.”
Although the show is based on Pullman’s books, there have been a few changes. One of the biggest changes is the early introduction of Will Parry (Amir Wilson), who was introduced only in the second book, Screen Rant reported.
“His Dark Materials” Season 2 is set to be released sometime later this year. The producers are yet to announce an exact release date.
