Lyra (Dafne Keen) will come face to face with the horrors the kidnapped children face in “His Dark Materials” episode 6. A preview video of the next episode shows what the Gobblers do with the children at their facility in the North.

According to the official plot synopsis, Lyra will have to use all her wits to help the kidnapped children escape from the facility in the North. A preview video of the next episode shows Lyra too is trapped at this place, but her inquisitive mind will leave the doctors there shocked.

The scientists have been trying to learn the secrets of Dust at the facility. The experiments they conduct will be done at the cost of many innocent children, which is something that will haunt their conscious too.

Mrs. Coulter (Ruth Wilson) defends the experiments by saying that such things require sacrifice. The next one to lose her life in these experiments may be Lyra herself, and it remains to be seen if her screaming for her mother in “His Dark Materials” episode 6 will have any effect in helping to free her.

Lyra has some powerful friends who can help her in her fight. A clip from episode 5 that has been released online shows how her ability to read the alethiometer has also served her well in putting all the pieces of the puzzle together.

Many more factions and heroes are expected to join Lyra when the actual war begins. One new character who will be key in this fight is Will Parry (Amir Wilson), who is a boy from another world who joins Lyra. Will is expected to play a bigger role in Season 2, Entertainment Weekly reported.

“His Dark Materials” episode 6 is titled “The Daemon Cages.” It will air on Dec. 9 at 9 p.m. EST on HBO.
