Hope Solo Says Maksim Chmerkovskiy 'Slapped Me' On 'Dancing With The Stars': Is She Lying?
Hope Solo just wrote a new memoir titled, "Solo: A Memoir of Hope," inside the athlete reveals that Maksim Chmerkovskiy "slapped her" while they were competing on "Dancing WithThe Stars," Yahoo reported.
The 31-year-old wrote in the memoir: "He was often nasty, swearing at me and being harshly critical. He manhandled me in rehearsals from the start, pushing me, whacking my stomach, bending my arms roughly. One day, Maks was trying to put me in a certain position and hit my stomach so hard with his open palm that I had a red handprint there for the rest of the day."
Solo recalled that during a rehersal Chmerkovskiy became so angry with her that he slapped her across the face and was so rough with her that her ears were ringing later. "He was extremely apologetic. I didn't care," she wrote. "My ear was ringing as I walked out, shaking. I had just been hit, and I had been worried about how I would come off looking on television."
ABC reportedly offered Solo a new partner after Chmerkovskiy hit her, she said, but she did not except another partner because she "didn't want to end Maks' career" and appear as if she were a "prima donna." She said that the slap was caught on camera, but the footage is now gone.
Chmerkovskiy wrote that he and Solo had many "ups and downs" in his TVGuide.com blogs during Season 13, but according to his recollection, they became stronger because of it. "Working past our differences has allowed Hope and me to respect and appreciate each other on a very high level," he wrote. "I don't regret anything that has happened this year."
But on Thursday after Solo's allegations against the professional ballroom dancer surfaced, Chmerkovskiy tweeted, "Always hated hypocrites and liars...but when someone is both AND an opportunist, I just feel bad for them. Can't win at someone's expense."
Actress Kirstie Alley, who competed with Chmerkovskiy during season 12 and is his current All-star partner added, "I shall bite thine tongue, lest I get into a girl fight that I would surely lose without a hammer in my hand."
Do you think Solo is lying or is she telling the truth and what's up with Alley's cryptic tweet?
