‘Hot Mugshot’ Guy Jeremy Meeks Posts Shirtless Photo After Prison Release, Says He’s ‘Ready’ To Start Modeling Career
From convict to model. That seems to be the direction California native Jeremy Meeks’ life is taking after being released from a Nevada prison this week. Meeks, who was dubbed the “hot convict” or “sexy felon” for taking what some considered an attractive mugshot, took to Instagram to tell fans that he was ready for life as a free man, which includes a modeling contract with White Cross Management.
Posting a shirtless picture of himself riding on a small boat, Meeks wrote, “Looking forward to my time on the lake with my kids.” In another post, the married father of three wrote, “I want to thank my family and everybody for all your love, support and prayers. I’m overwhelmed and grateful for what lies ahead. I’m ready @jimjordanphotography and @whitecrossmanagement #jeremymeeks #jimjordan #whitecrossmanagement.”
According to CBS News, Meeks was released from prison Tuesday. He became an internet sensation in 2014, after the Stockton Police Department posted his mugshot photo on their Facebook page. Meeks’ piercing blue eyes and full lips quickly caught the attention of several admirers, leading White Cross Management to reach out to him about a modeling deal. He signed the contract shortly before starting his prison sentence.
Speaking to ABC News in February 2015, Meeks said he was shocked his photo had gotten so much attention.
“I’m in a place where I will be able to provide for my family and really change my life,” he said. “I never thought that everyone in the world would recognize me for my looks, so I feel extremely blessed and very thankful.”
He also told the outlet that he wasn’t letting being in prison stop him from preparing for his modeling career.
“I eat healthy. I do a lot of push-ups, pull-ups, dips, burpees, and I stay very active,” he said at the time, adding that he would love to also get into acting. “I wish I could be on a show like ‘Sons of Anarchy.’”
