‘House Of Cards’ Season 3 Spoilers: Premiere Date Revealed; Watch Frank Underwood In New Promo Before The February 2015 Netflix Return
Netflix gave TV lovers an early Christmas present with the reveal of the Season 3 premiere date of “House of Cards.” The on-demand streaming provider said the political thriller will return for your binge-watching pleasure Friday, Feb. 27. Now that’s something to double tap your ring about.
“BREAKING NEWS,” a tweet from the “House of Cards” Twitter account posted Monday morning said. “President Underwood and the First Lady will be making an announcement today at 11 A.M. EST. Please stand by..."
But they should have warned us to take a seat! We nearly fell over when news broke “House of Cards” would return with more presidential drama come February. Not to mention, the announcement coincided with a brief yet teasing promo video.
In the 12-second trailer, President Underwood (Kevin Spacey) and Claire Underwood (Robin Wright) slowly walk up the steps to their private jet. Frank then peers into the plane through one of the windows, giving fans one of his iconic, cold stares.
The February premiere date comes as a bit of a surprise considering it was previously teased “HoC” was prepared to be delayed due to a Maryland tax discrepancy. It was revealed the production of the new season of Beau Willimon's Emmy Award-winning series was being delayed from spring to summer after Gov. Martin O’Malley threatened to rethink the heightened tax incentives being given to the Netflix series. “House of Cards” struck back, saying it would pack up its set and leave the state if the legislation passed.
Fortunately for fans the series will return in the same month it always has since the jaw-dropping show premiered in 2013.
