Since Harry and Markle headed to Africa to celebrate the “Suits” star’s 36th birthday, their fans have been speculating that the engagement is imminent. The couple and Kensington Palace have not made any announcement yet, but many are convinced that it’s happening soon or is already a done deal.

According to People, for those who want to confirm if the couple is already engaged should wait for the palace’s announcement. The palace will usually make an early morning announcement on its social media account, the way it did to Kate Middleton and Prince William’s.

Once the official announcement is made, the couple will make an on-camera interview. When Middleton and William’s engagement was publicly announced, the couple immediately attended a photo call at St. Jame’s Palace and did an interview with Sky News.

Also, one should note that the announcement is usually done after the proposal itself. By the time Middleton and William announced to the public that they were engaged, he had already asked her hand a month prior.

As for Markle and Harry, many believe that the royal prince already popped the question. In fact, Forbes reported that the “British betting world are tipping towards an already-accepted proposal.” They no longer ask whether Harry proposed or not in Africa but are betting on when the royal wedding will happen.

Also, sources close to the couple told Daily Star that Harry already proposed to Markle. The report alleged that he popped the big question during their camp in Botswana beneath the stars with “betrothal” bracelets made of blue, white and black Zulu beads that featured a pattern denoting their status as “married.” However, the rumored announcement was reportedly put on hold until the queen gives her permission.

“Meghan won’t be landing at Heathrow with a giant rock on her finger. Harry’s told his friends he’s hoping to make the official announcement in September,” the source said. “The setting and the bracelets were just so special to Harry. He has always felt close to Diana in Africa and it was she who taught him about the meaning of the tribal beads as she spent so much time there.”
