Meek Mill protégé Lil Snupe was shot and killed on Thursday. The 18-year-old upcoming rapper was killed around 4 a.m. with two gun shot wounds in Winnfield, La., Billboard.com reported.

Lil Snupe, whose real name is Addarren Ross, had just been signed to Mill’s Dream Chaser label before his untimely death. According to CBS affiliate KNOE 8, a suspect has been identified but no other information was released.

After hearing about his shocking passing, Dream Chasers' Louie V Gutta took to Twitter to share his grief.

MTV reported Mill was impressed with Lil Snupe’s music from the start. The teenager slipped him his demo and in less than an hour got a phone call from Mill. "He was in a van ... And I went and knocked on the van, on the window. They let the window down, grabbed the mixtape and it was like 10 minutes later, 20 minutes later they called me," Lil Snupe told MTV News.

"He was spittin' so much pain, he's from the South with a flow like an east coast guy," Mill said about the young rapper. "Like with that bounce flow, all over the place, he really can spit, and he was talking that talk that I can really relate to. I seen potential in him."

Lil Snupe represented his home state in his last tweet to his fans, "i Hold it Down 4 Louisiana.”

Twitter has been mourning the loss of the 18-year-old and sending their condolences to his family and loved ones:
