Last we saw of the Liars, Hanna (Ashley Benson) took Noel (Brant Daugherty) hostage where she attempted to get him to confess that he was A.D. on camera. Of course, he didn’t give up the goods. However, she did manage to cut his leg which resulted in her getting a blood sample from him that she sent off for testing, hoping it would tie him to torturing her at the barn.
Elsewhere, the Liars were worried with both Noel and Hanna missing. Fearing for her safety, they call the cops. Hearing that she has been reported as a missing person, Hanna calls Mona (Janel Parrish) who finds a flash drive that will put Noel in prison for kidnapping the Liars at the dollhouse.
However, Hanna also wants him to be charged with torturing her and insists they wait for the DNA sample to come back. Unfortunately for Hanna, she didn’t tie Noel to the chair tightly so when she left him to inform her friends she wasn’t missing, he managed to escape.
When she returns to her friends, Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) is happy that she is back and confesses his love for her, saying they are meant to spend the rest of their lives together. The two kiss, which leads to lovemaking in front of a fireplace. In other words, Haleb is officially back together.
Over at the DiLaurentis house, Ali (Sasha Pieterse) told Emily (Shay Mitchell) that she is pregnant with Elliot’s (Huw Collins) baby. The two later share a kiss. Ali insists that she kissed Emily because she cares and not because she was in a vulnerable state.
However, when Paige (Lindsey Shaw) finds out that Emily spent the night at Alison’s she is upset and seemingly ends whatever chance they had at a future together.
Although she was trying to move on and bond with Marco (Nicholas Gonzalez), Spencer (Troian Bellisario) still has Toby (Keegan Allen) on the brain and goes to his place to say goodbye before he left town. The two express their feelings towards one another and share a kiss. Spencer then leaves.
Meanwhile, Aria (Lucy Hale) catches the news only to learn that Ezra’s (Ian Harding) ex-girlfriend Nicole (Rebecca Breeds) has been found alive. She also sees them kissing on television.
Aside from the love stories and heartbreak, Hanna eventually learns that Noel’s DNA doesn’t match Mary Drake’s (Andrea Parker) and tells her friends what she has been up to. When they go back to talk to Noel they realize he escaped and took the camera which proves Hanna kidnapped him.
However, he offers to give them the camera in exchange for the flash drive. Arriving at the meeting place, an abandoned school for the blind, the liars find the camera. When they attempt to leave, they realize Emily forgot her phone upstairs and Hanna accompanies her to get it.
That’s when Noel appears and begins to chase the two with an ax. Downstairs in the school, Jenna (Tammin Sursok) is chasing the remaining Liars around with a gun. During a scuffle with Emily and Hanna, Noel dropped the ax on the floor and eventually lands on it, decapitating him.
Jenna makes her way upstairs and begins shooting. The Liars attempt to make their exit but realize one of them is missing: Spencer.
Spencer has been shot and is crawling into a corner. Jenna is stopped from taking things further when Mary Drake appears and tells Spencer that she is her mother. As Spencer lay down bleeding, it is revealed that on his way out of town Toby got into a terrible car accident and it is unknown whether or not he is alive.
After shooting Spencer, Jenna is seen lying in a van with a hooded figure who removes their mask, she realizes the person is A.D.
The last things viewers see is the hooded person getting into a vehicle with toys modeled after the Liars. A.D. picks the doll that looks like Spencer up and places it into a coffin.
The final season of “Pretty Little Liars” will premiere on Tuesday at 8 p.m. EDT on Freeform.
