Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are well on their way to happily ever after, but how did the two first meet anyway?

Prince Harry told BBC that they met on a blind date and neither of them knew much about each other. However, upon first meeting, he already found Markle “beautiful” and she “just tripped and fell into my life.”

The prince added that he never saw “Suits,” the TV show that catapulted Markle to fame as the paralegal Rachel Zane. Markle, on the other, “didn’t know much” about Prince Harry prior to meeting him.

“The only thing I had asked her when she said she wanted to set us up, was ‘was he nice?’ If he wasn’t kind, it didn’t seem like it would make sense,” said Markle.

It was a good thing the couple agreed to the blind date, because they clicked. Prince Harry even said they fell in love “so incredibly quickly,” and it felt like the “stars were aligned” for them to be together.

When asked when he realized Markle was “the one” for him, Prince Harry answered: “The very first time we met.”

The two have a lot of things in common, since Prince Harry said “both of us have passions for wanting to make change for good.” Markle added: “One of the first things we started taking about when we met was just the different things we wanted to do in the world and how passionate we were about seeing change.”

Prince Harry and Markle enjoyed a 16-month romance before getting engaged, according to The Telegraph. Once married, the two will live in Harry’s current home, Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace. Just like Kate Middleton after she married Prince William in 2011, Markle is also expected to become a duchess. She is expected to become the Duchess of Sussex, if the Queen makes Harry the Duke of Sussex on the morning of his wedding.

Because Prince Harry is fifth-in-line to the throne, Markle will not become the future queen.

Prince Harry reportedly introduced Markle to his grandmother in Buckingham Palace in October, according to E! News. She gave them her blessing, and so did the other members of the royal family.
