“Younger,” starring Peter Hermann and Sutton Foster, returns with new episodes starting Wednesday. TV Land

TV Land’s romantic dramedy, “Younger,” returns Wednesday night with its Season 6 premiere, but before episode 1 arrives, let’s take a minute to recap how last season ended.

The Season 5 finale brought a lot of changes for the characters fans have come to love over the years. After keeping their romantic relationship a secret because of their boss-employee dynamic, Liza (Sutton Foster) and Charles (Peter Hermann) give themselves the all-clear to be open about their romance when he resigns as the head of Empirical.

The moment the two of them realize the size of Charles’ sacrifice and the newfound legitimacy of their relationship, though, they begin to look unsure of the situation and of exactly what their next step together is.

Meanwhile, the Empirical vacancy was quickly filled by Kelsey (Hilary Duff), who looked, at once, surprised, excited and nervous by the announcement of her promotion to publisher of the company.

Aside from showing how Kelsey will handle her new, major role at the company and how Liza and Charles will handle the next phase of their relationship, Season 6 of “Younger” will also give viewers more details about Josh’s big Season 5 finale cliffhanger.

You know, the one where his very pregnant ex-wife, Clare (Phoebe Dynevor), arrived at his doorstep and he’s left wondering whether the kid is his or not.

With so many questions raised, Season 6, episode 1, titled “Big Day,” has a lot of answers it needs to give. Here’s what’s in store from the premiere:

“Kelsey makes her debut as a publisher, quickly realizing that the company is in trouble; the new regime -- and a revelation about Liza -- sends Diana [Miriam Shor] into a crisis; Josh finds out the paternity of Clare’s baby.”

Get the answers you’ve been waiting for when “Younger” Season 6 premieres on Wednesday on TV Land at 10 p.m. EDT.
