The “How To Get Away With Murder” Season 5 fall finale shocked viewers, who finally learned the truth about Gabriel’s connection to Annalise and who died at Connor and Oliver’s wedding. However, the last few minutes of episode 8, “I Want to Love You Until the Day I Die,” left fans with even more questions about what’s to come when the ABC series returns.

Although the show is only going on hiatus for a few weeks, there are several burning questions we have ahead of the “HTGAWM” Season 5 winter premiere.

1. What Will Gabriel Do To Annalise?

In the “How To Get Away With Murder” Season 5 finale, viewers learned Gabriel Maddox (Rome Flynn) is the son Sam (Tom Verica) had with his first wife, Vivian. Annalise (Viola Davis) was the other woman and the one responsible for Sam leaving Vivian, who suffered from mental issues while raising Gabriel alone. It appears Gabriel blames Annalise for breaking up his family, but how far will he go to get revenge?

2. Who Was Adopted?

The details about the adoption that Governor Birkhead (Laura Innes) has been threatening to expose have yet to be revealed to the audience of the ABC series. The thought of the information getting out has driven Annalise to start drinking again, but what is her relationship to the child in question?

3. Did Nate And Bonnie Go After the Wrong Person?

In episode 8, “I Want to Love You Until the Day I Die,” Nate (Billy Brown) hired a private investigator to look into the warden’s phone records to see who ordered his father’s murder. The P.I. traced the call back to a pay phone that shows Miller (John Hensley) was the one who placed the call. When Nate confronted Miller, he insisted the call was to make sure Nate Sr. (Glynn Turman) was treated properly during his transfer, but Nate didn’t believe him. After he beat Miller to a bloody pulp, Bonnie (Liza Weil) stumbled upon the scene and Nate shared what he learned. Bonnie then suffocated Miller and told Nate to get rid of the body. Did Miller have Nate Sr. killed or was he set up by someone else?

4. Will Bonnie Find Out About The Engagement Ring?

When Nate put Miller’s body in the trunk of his car, he discovered an engagement ring. Prior to his death, Miller and Bonnie got into an argument and she accused Miller of going after the one person who matters most to her, Annalise. While Bonnie was suffocating Miller, she flashed back to the moment Annalise warned her that her new boyfriend was just using her. Will Bonnie learn Miller truly loved her or will Nate bury this secret with Miller’s body?
