Kate Middleton and Prince William enjoyed some quality time together as a couple during their recent Caribbean tour.

Last week, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge wrapped up their eight-day tour of the Caribbean after visits to Belize, Jamaica and the Bahamas to mark Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee year, which celebrates the monarch's 70 years on the throne. The trip was also the couple's first joint official overseas tour since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite the controversies surrounding their tour, an unnamed source told Us Weekly that Prince William and Middleton "had some unforgettable moments" during their overseas trip and "bonded over" their shared vision for the monarchy.

The couple soaked up each moment together, going on diving outings, boat trips and more, according to the insider.

"Meeting new and interesting people was a highlight," the source said. "They loved dancing and getting to know the locals in Belize and trying the local cuisine. Kate loves spicy food so it was right up her alley."

When the royals visited the coastal town of Hopkins in Belize, they showed off their playful sides as they joined in the dancing at a cultural center. The duchess was seen shimmying flirtatiously toward her husband, who watched on with a huge grin on his face.

Prince William and Middleton "of course" missed their three children — Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 6, and Prince Louis, 3 — but "found it refreshing to have a few child-free days" to themselves, according to the source.

"It's been the first time in years [that] they've been away together without the kids for this long," the insider added. "But by the end of the trip, [they] couldn't wait to get back and hug them again."

While they were not able to bring their children along for the trip, the couple had their little ones in mind throughout their tour. Prince William and Middleton FaceTimed Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis while they were in the Bahamas and showed them glimpses of where they were staying, People reported.

An unnamed source told the outlet that the little royals were stunned by the views of the Caribbean Sea from their parents' penthouse suite at The Cove at the Atlantis Bahamas Resort. Prince William and Duchess Kate reportedly told their kids that they "can't wait" to bring them to the country for a trip in the future.

The future king and queen consort stayed at the Bahamas hotel from March 24 to 26 during the last leg of their royal Caribbean tour, Page Six reported.

The couple's 4,830-square-foot penthouse suite featured three bedrooms, wrap-around ocean views, a spacious living area, a full-service kitchen, a 10-set dining area and an office, according to the outlet.

An unnamed insider told the outlet that Prince William and Middleton did not make any particular demands and were "low-key" ahead of their stay. When they arrived at the hotel, the royals "were so friendly to the staff at the resort, smiling at guests they passed," the source added.

"It did look like they enjoyed their stay," the tipster said.
