How Kate Middleton, Prince William May Feel About Meghan’s Extravagant Baby Shower

Princess Diana’s former butler speculated on Prince William and Kate Middleton’s reaction to Meghan Markle's lavish baby shower.

The Duchess of Sussex has been criticized due to her extravagant baby shower that reportedly amounted to $200,000, while Kensington Palace just announced how the poorest families couldn’t afford to feed their children. Ex-butler Paul Burrell and Becky Pemberton spoke about the issue and shared their thoughts about the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s possible reaction about it.

“I think Prince William will be angered by all of Meghan's lavish extravagance this week and the fact her baby shower looked so ‘celebrity’ rather than ‘royal,’” Burrell and Pemberton wrote on the Sun.

The royal commentators added that Prince William has been working with the press for years while still keeping his privacy. On the other hand, Markle has been "courting attention all for her and her baby."

Burrell and Pemberton acknowledged the fact that Middleton had her own baby shower for Prince George even if this thing isn’t a British tradition and is actually an American one. However, unlike Markle, the royal mom of three kept her celebration very private.

“I think William, as well as Kate Middleton, will be totally bewildered by why Meghan is doing all this, as there’s no excuse for over-indulgence or excess and that’s what it seems to me,” they added.

The pair also said that the celebrity world where Markle came from could spell a disaster because the pregnant royal doesn’t know the difference between being a celebrity and a royal. Queen Elizabeth II has reportedly always said that celebrities and royals are very different.

Burrell and Pemberton praised the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for being “measured” and simpler in a lot of ways. They also added that the Sussex and Cambridge families are drifting further and further, but it’s apparently a good thing because Prince William and Middleton have to remain “spotless.”

There are rumors that Prince Harry and Markle’s marriage is in trouble. The couple reportedly had a disagreement after five of her friends agreed to give an interview with People to defend her from her critics. The move was apparently something that Prince Harry would have not approved of.

In related news, some of Markle’s fans defended her and stressed that her extravagant baby shower was privately funded by her friends. They pointed out that Prince William and Middleton’s vacation wasn’t criticized when it was funded by the taxpayers.
