How Kate Middleton, Prince William’s Australia Trip Differs From Prince Harry, Meghan’s
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be heading to Australia next month, but their trip will be different from Kate Middleton and Prince William’s visit.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge went to Australia and New Zealand in 2014 with Prince George. They stayed in the country for three weeks. The couple’s itinerary saw them visiting the Australian capital Canberra, as well as Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Uluru.
Prince Harry and Markle, on the other hand, will visit Dubbo, Melbourne, Fraser Island and Sydney during their 16-day tour between Oct. 16 and 22. After which, the royal couple will head to Fiji to continue for the rest of their trip.
“The program across these four Commonwealth countries will focus on youth leadership, environmental and conservation efforts – including the dedication of several new Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy projects – and the recovery and rehabilitation of servicemen and women through the Invictus Games Sydney 2018,” the Kensington Palace said.
In related news, Middleton and Prince William’s trip to Australia were focused on celebrating the country’s success in the various fields such as technology, tourism, sports, and the creative arts. Their trip also coincided with the Anzac Day.
While in Australia, Prince William and his wife attended a special service in Canberra to mark the occasion. They also visited the Sydney Opera House, Taronga Zoo, and more.
Meanwhile, Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull is already looking forward to Markle and Prince Harry’s arrival.
“The Duke of Sussex has become a champion for war veterans around the world, including in Australia. His attendance, alongside the Duchess of Sussex, will be a wonderful highlight for the more than 500 competitors and thousands of spectators,” he said.
However, some Australians are confused as to why Prince Harry and Markle will head to Dubbo during their tour. They noted that the city only has 55,000 residents and said that it makes no sense for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to spend some time there.
But some residents of Dubbo said that Prince Harry and Markle are more than welcome to visit them.
