King George VI knew that Queen Elizabeth II would be a great monarch even when she was just a baby.

In the documentary “The Majestic Life of Queen Elizabeth II,” it was revealed that Her Majesty’s father already saw her devotion to duty while she was still in the cot. Royal correspondent Camilla Tominey said that the late king knew that even at an early age, the Queen was already regal.

“She seemed to be very much in control of herself and her emotions,” she said.

Royal historian and biographer Robert Lacey added, “King George said: ‘I look at her and I see Queen Victoria. I see the evidence of a great monarch in the making… We don’t need a boy to do the job, she will do it better.’”

Many years later, when the Queen turned 21 years old, she declared her devotion to fulfilling her role as the Head of Commonwealth even though she hasn’t been crowned yet. During her birthday speech, Her Majesty said that her whole life, whether it is short or long, will be devoted to the service of the people and the great imperial family.

In related news, the Queen also made headlines this week after it was claimed that Meghan Markle defied Her Majesty’s orders when she decided to attend the baby shower that her friends threw for her in New York.

Channel 7 entertainment reporter Peter Ford said that there may be some tone of disapproval with Markle’s decision since the royal family does not normally approve of baby showers.

However, royal etiquette expert Victoria Arbiter previously told 9Honey that there is no written rule that members of the royal family are not allowed to attend baby showers organized for them by their friends. However, they are discouraged from organizing their own because they are thought to be rich and could afford everything that their baby needs.
