Meghan Markle will soon be able to thank Michelle Obama for introducing Prince Harry to her.

Zoe Griffin and Katie Hind, journalists for Daily Mail, reported that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be having a lavish dinner with the Obamas and the Clooneys at the latter’s Berkshire home next month.

Mrs. Obama is expected to give a talk fans in London about her new memoir “Becoming,” and George and Amal Clooney will be there to host the event. The journalists noted the fact that the upcoming dinner will be interesting because Clooney is a liberal activist, and his wife, Amal, is a noted human rights lawyer.

It is also believed that Markle has been meaning to meet with Barack and Michelle Obama after she was unable to invite them to her royal wedding on May 19. The Obamas are close with Prince Harry and the other members of the royal family having met them a couple of times.

However, since Barack Obama was the former president of the United States, and the current president, Donald Trump, was not invited to the royal wedding, the Sussexes decided to not ask the Obamas to attend as well.

“Michelle is keen to see the Clooneys when she is in the UK, as she and Barack are very close to George. She also wants to see Harry and Meghan as she was very disappointed to not have been able to attend the wedding and wants to check in on them. She was instrumental in introducing Harry and Meghan and feels a responsibility to see how they are getting on, as well as celebrate the news they are about to become parents,” a source said.

The Clooneys were invited to Prince Harry and Markle’s wedding earlier this year. They also scored an invite to Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s nuptials but were unable to attend due to their previous separate engagements.
