Queen Elizabeth Warned Prince Harry Over ‘Difficult’ Meghan Markle For This Reason
Queen Elizabeth II reportedly warned Prince Harry over Meghan Markle’s “difficult” side before they tied the knot.
Markle initially wanted to wear a tiara that was adorned with emeralds but wasn’t allowed to do so because no one knew where her initial choice came from. In Robert Jobson’s book, it was revealed that Prince Harry told a palace staff that what future wife wants, she gets.
But on the day of her wedding to Prince Harry, the Queen lent the “Suits” alum a diamond and platinum headpiece.
“Meghan had her heart set on this tiara with emeralds and Prince Harry hit the roof when they were told it was impossible for her to wear it. The provenance of the tiara could not be established. There were concerns it could have come from Russia originally. There was a very heated exchange that prompted the Queen to speak to Harry. She said, ‘Meghan cannot have whatever she wants. She gets what tiara she’s given by me,” the source said (via The Sun).
The Queen also reportedly questioned why Markle needed to wear a veil on her wedding since it was already her second marriage. The Duchess of Sussex was previously married to Trevor Engelson.
“The message from the Queen was very much Meghan needed to think about how she speaks to staff members and be careful to follow family protocols,” the source said.
During her interview with Prince Harry after their big day, Markle revealed that she selected the tiara that she wore at her wedding after visiting Buckingham Palace. She also said that the Queen gave her some suggestions on what tiaras she could wear.
“Meghan can be difficult. She has very high standards and is used to working in a Hollywood environment. However, there’s a different degree of respect in the royal household and Kate has always been very careful about how she has acted around the staff,” the source said.
