How Meghan Markle’s Friend Arranged Secret Dates With Prince Harry And More
Years before Meghan Markle married Prince Harry in a lavished royal wedding, she landed a lead role on a television series and began filming “Suits” Season 1 in Toronto. While there, she met the “second most important man” in her life, Markus Anderson.
While Markus may not have the same amount of fame as some of Meghan’s other friends like Amal Clooney and Serena Williams, his connections and organizational skills have had a significant impact in the former actress’ life.
When Meghan first began dating Prince Harry, Markus reportedly helped the couple set up private dates at Soho House and secret trips, according to the Express UK. The strategic planning allowed the couple the chance to genuinely get to know each other before going public with their relationship,
Meghan and Markus are believed to have first met in 2011 when he was a waiter at Soho House. Nowadays, Markus has moved up in the members club and is a global consultant for the company.
However, he also handles certain aspects of media for Meghan and reportedly helped the Duchess of Sussex choose her new press chief, Sara Latham. “He knows everyone. He’s utterly discreet. He and Sara are amazing people for Meghan to have on her team,” a source revealed.
“Between them, they know everyone in the world of politics and show business on both sides of the Atlantic,” the insider added.
Although Queen Elizabeth reportedly denied Harry and Meghan’s attempt to build a global Sussex brand by making their household independent of Buckingham Palace, sources believe Markus would have been the perfect person to help them carry out the expansion.
“If Meghan and Harry are looking to become a global brand with their philanthropy, they could not have chosen two better people to guide them.”
Nonetheless, it appears Markus will continue to be Meghan’s go-to guy when it comes to making important decisions.
